I am currently a police dog handler at Milton Keynes, which I have been doing for seven years, before that 4 years on the underwater search unit. I have two working dogs, a General Purpose dog, German Shepherd called Frost, and a Specialist Search Dog, a Springer Spaniel called Arris. I have 15.5 years police service.
I am doing the cycle ride because a) I'm mad b) I had a knee operation 12 months ago and it's a good excuse for extra physio, and c) I was a member of the Thames Valley Police Disaster Victim identification team who went to Thailand following the Tsunami in March 2004. It was a very humbling experience, and this is a fantastic opportunity to give a little something back to those still in need, have fallen away from media interest in recent times.
